Strikers

Strikers refer to individuals or players who are positioned to attack and score goals in various sports, most notably in soccer (football), hockey, and cricket. In soccer, strikers are forwards whose primary role is to convert opportunities into goals, often through skillful play, speed, and positioning. They typically play near the opposing team’s goal and are responsible for capitalizing on chances created by teammates.

In cricket, a striker is the batsman currently facing the bowler, tasked with hitting the ball to score runs. The term can also extend to labor movements, referring to individuals who participate in a strike, which is a work stoppage undertaken by employees to express grievances or demand better conditions from their employers. Overall, the term “strikers” encompasses both athletes aiming to score in various sports and workers engaged in collective actions to assert their rights.
