Bonzi

Bonzi refers to a software program known as BonziBuddy, which was developed by Bonzi Software. Launched in the late 1990s, BonziBuddy was an interactive desktop assistant in the form of a purple gorilla character. The program offered various features, including humor, voice interaction, and internet searches, presenting itself as a friendly companion for computer users. However, it was also criticized for being adware and for potentially exposing users to security risks, as it gathered information about users for marketing purposes. The term “Bonzi” has since become associated with computer software that is often seen as unnecessary or intrusive.
